FIRST FRIDAYS FOR FAMILIES: “Jam as a Fam,” 6 to 7 p.m. March 6, The Commons, 300 Washington St., Columbus, free series that introduces young audiences to a wide variety of performing arts in a fun, informal setting the first Friday of each month through April. Performances are free and open to everyone. Come jam with Bongo Boy Music School as they shake, rattle and roll, playing drums and percussion and singing along to lots of fun songs! This creative 45-minute program is designed for young families with children ages 6 months to 4 years of age, but all ages are welcome! A ROAD TO FREEDOM, 6 p.m., Feb. 20, North American House, 3375 N Linen Road, Vernon. This 45-minute play is for any age group interested in learning about the Underground Railroad in the East Indiana Network, which included Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. The play is free to the public. This workshop will be an interactive primer on Christian activism for social justice, focusing especially on anti-racism. It will draw on the wisdom of Christian theology and the advice of life-long activists to identify how we can be part of the struggle for justice. Child care is available.
