State education board approves Ivy Tech program extension

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Board of Education met virtually today for its August business meeting, approving an extension of the Ivy Tech Career Specialist Permit Pedagogy Component Program. Currently, Ivy Tech Columbus offers the only approved program of this type in Indiana.

Ten applications for school technology advancement loans were approved. The total dollar value to be distributed is $2,299,666. The school corporations include: Cowan Community School Corp., Penn-Harris-Madison School Corp., MSD Warren County, Fort Wayne Community Schools, Porter Township School Corp., Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp., Elkhart Community Schools, Milan Community Schools, East Porter County School Corp., and MSD Warren Township.

The board will have its next meeting Sept. 2.
