Zac Horn

MALE

Zac Horn // Columbus North senior football player

Horn completed 21 of 30 passes for 332 yards and four touchdowns, including a 38-yarder to Damon Ewards with 9-tenths of a second remaining, to lift the Bull Dogs to a 41-35 win against Terre Haute North. Horn also carried seven times for 25 yards.

His performance last week: “We executed the offensive scheme. We prepared for them pretty well. I think we had a good idea of what they were going to do defensively, and we tried to kind of expose them a little bit.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “Coach (Logan Haston) goes over the coverages (the defense) play, and we’ll try to find hopes in their defense that we can maybe expose. It’s a lot of just watching film.”

Favorite drink: “Gatorade”

Favorite food: “I like Mexican food a lot. My mom makes some pretty good tacos.”

Favorite class: “Right now, I’m in a C4 Biomed class, and I think that’s pretty interesting.”

Favorite sports team: “Indianapolis Colts”

Favorite athlete: “Peyton Manning. I wear No. 18 because of him. We lived in Indianapolis when I was young, and he was always on TV, so I saw a lot of Peyton Manning. He’s definitely my favorite.”

Role model: “My dad and mom (Jame and Lisa Horn). They try to be good examples for me, and I try to take what they say and use it.”

Best advice: “Word hard at everything. When you do the small things right, in the end, you’re only helping yourself.”

Athletics goal: “I just want to keep winning football games. We have three games left (in the regular season), and we want to go 3-0 and be conference champions again.”

If you could travel anywhere: “I want to go to The Maldives or someplace like that with super clear oceans.”

Her performance last week: “I was trying to get a little more than two because I’m trying to get the school record, which is 63. Our team has worked well to make that happen.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I usually just try to eat well before the games and prepare myself and drink water and listen to music.”

Favorite food: “Pizza”

Favorite class: “Art or my science classes”

Favorite sports team: “U.S. Women’s National soccer team”

Athletics goal: “I’m hoping to play college soccer, so I’m continuing to work toward that, and to break the (Trinity) record for most goals in a career.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Hawaii, because I’ve always thought it’s really pretty there, and I’ve always loved the beach.”
