Bull Dogs fall to BNL, Center Grove

GREENWOOD — Columbus North dropped a pair of softball games at Center Grove on Saturday, falling to Bedford North Lawrence 17-5 and Class 4A No. 8 Center Grove 19-1 in five innings.

Kelsey Lovelace went 3 for 4 with a double, a home run and three RBIs against BNL and made the first pitching appearance of her high school career, allowing seven hits and no earned runs over the final three innings in relief of Bailee Scruggs. Avery Shehan went 3 for 3, and Miley McClellan went 2 for 4. The Bull Dogs were plagued by eight errors.

Scruggs went 3 for 3 and pitched four innings against Center Grove for North (5-3).
