Louden threw a five-inning no-hitter and struck out seven Saturday to lead the Jets to a 13-3 win against Switzerland County.

His performance last week: “I feel like we played very well together and came together and played well.”

Paige McDaniel

McDaniel won her school record-setting 65th and 66th career games when she threw a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts in Friday’s 10-0 win against Waldron and in a nine-hitter in Saturday’s 6-1 win at Indianapolis Lutheran. She also combined on a no-hitter in Thursday’s 11-0 win against Waldron and went over 500 career strikeouts. For the week, she went 7 for 12 at the plate with a triple and five RBIs.

Her performance last week: “I feel like we all were checked in, and if things ever went south, I know my team had my back, so I felt calm.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I listen to music that gets me mad. It makes me pitch better and hit the ball harder.”
