Brady Schneider // Columbus North junior golfer

Schneider won medalist honors with a 70 at Cascades to lead the Bull Dogs to a third-place finish in Saturday’s Bloomington North Invitational. He carded a 79 on Thursday at Harrison Lake Country Club in a 319-341 win against Columbus East. A day earlier, he led North with a 37 in a second-place finish in a nine-hole tri match at HLCC.

His performance last week: “Against East, I didn’t play as well as I could have, but I practiced a lot Friday, and Saturday, I feel like I executed pretty well and got some putts to fall, finally.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just eat good food and sleep.”

Favorite drink: “Dr. Pepper”

Favorite food: “Hamburgers”

Favorite class: “Hoosiers (basketball)”

Favorite sports team: “Indiana University”

Favorite athlete: “Tyrese Haliburton”

Role model: “My dad (Brock Schneider)”

Best advice: “Don’t ever quit. Keep going.”

Athletics goal: “I’d like to play golf in college.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Europe. I’d like to go there and see it. It’s where my grandparents just went, and I saw some pictures and it looks like it would be a lot of fun.”

Kenna Streeval

Streeval had two RBIs in a 15-3 win at Trinity Lutheran; went 2 for 3 in a 13-3 loss at Hauser; went 6 for 6 with two triples and three RBIs in Thursday’s 16-6 win at Jac-Cen-Del and and went 4 for 4 with a double, a triple and four RBIs and threw a three-hitter in Friday’s 15-0 win at South Decatur.

Her performance last week: “I’ve kind of been in a little bit of a hitting slump recently, and it was good to finally come out of that and show what I can do.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just make sure I’m in the right head space and really just focus in and get mentally ready.”

Favorite drink: “Gatorade”

Favorite food: “Chick-Fil-A chicken”

Favorite class: “Math”

Favorite sports team: “Indiana University”

Favorite athlete: “Caitlin Clark”

Role model: “I really look up to my sister (senior Kyah Streeval), with what she’s overcome with her ACL and getting back on the field and showing you can overcome hard things.”

Best advice: “Just work hard, have fun and keep going. You’re going to have bad days and bad games, but just keep working hard.’’

Athletics goal: “To play college softball.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Hawaii, because I like the beach.”
