EDINBURGH — A company with a long-time presence in Edinburgh is expanding again.

Dillingham Investments, the legal entity that owns the land where Ditech Inc. is located, was unanimously approved for a 10-year real property tax abatement by the Edinburgh Town Council Monday.

Ditech, Inc. is an automotive supplier that manufactures and specializes in tubular products and exhaust components for motor vehicles. The company has been in business for over 31 years in Central Indiana.

The abatement was requested to facilitate a $900,000 investment to construct a third building on Ditech’s Edinburgh campus, 1151 S. Walnut St. The 20,000-square-foot building will be used for shipping and storage of raw materials and finished goods, according to documents filed with the town. Officials said the plan is to complete construction of the new building by the end of December.

The expansion will retain 154 jobs and add five additional jobs by 2025. Jobs at the site pay an average wage of $18.81 per hour, with new jobs paying $15 per hour, documents filed with the town show.

Under this 10-year abatement, Ditech will be exempt from paying real property taxes for the first year. Taxes owed would increase in 10% increments for the following nine years until full property taxes will be due in 2035.

Edinburgh has previously given the company eight abatements. Abatements issued in 2023 and 2016 are still active. In 2023, the company invested $3 million to upgrade equipment purchases of a Smart Cobot, welding equipment and servo presses.

From 2008-2012, Ditech received three five-year personal property tax abatements, and in 2014 and 2016, the manufacturer received two 10-year personal property abatements. Each abatement since first issued in 2005 has been tied to an equipment investment at the plant.
