John and Nancy Gilliland of Franklin and their family celebrated the couple’s 60th wedding anniversary in northern Wisconsin.
Mr. Gilliland and the former Nancy Lorts were married June 12, 1955, at Hope Moravian Church by the Rev. Earl R. Shay.
Mr. Gilliland is a retired obstetrician and gynecologist.
Mrs. Gilliland is a homemaker and retired registered nurse.

The couple have five daughters, Joy Hicks, Sherry Cheek, Beth O’Brien, Becky McClung and Cristy Coner. They also have 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
