Floyd R. “Shorty” McMillan, 77, of Columbus, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation of Columbus.
Mr. McMillan served a three-year enlistment with the Indiana Army National Guard and was a long time self-employed mason. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Patrick Galligar officiating.
Family and friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11 and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday.
Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum. Military honors will be presented by the Army National Guard Honor Guard and the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.

Born in Columbus, Aug. 19, 1938, Mr. McMillan was the son of Lawrence and Mary Michiner McMillan.
Survivors include his long time companion, Jacque Coffey of Columbus; children, Richard (Stasi) McMillan and Lori (Rob) Botzum both of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Cody McMillan and Samuel, Sabrina and Scott Botzum; a sister, Ann (Corky) Sanders of Seymour; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. McMillan was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth Clark, Lorena Goodall and Dorothy Bush; and brothers, Robert, Marshall and Frank McMillan.
