Faurecia has donated $5,000 to support the Women’s Giving Circle of Bartholomew County’s Turning the Page project.
With Faurecia’s support, and that of other donors, Turning the Page will provide books, including biographies, of empowering women and stories featuring strong female characters to area elementary school libraries.
Tobi Herron, Faurecia community and employee involvement director, described the initiative has one that helps empower girls in Bartholomew County.
Herron is the keynote speaker at the circle’s annual meeting at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at The Commons, in downtown Columbus.
The community is invited to attend the annual meeting, where light appetizers and a cash bar will be available. Networking begins at 4:30 p.m. followed by the program at 5:30 p.m. Grant awards for 2017 will be presented at the meeting.
People who attend will have the opportunity to write inspiring messages for young girls to be included with the books delivered to the schools.
The Women’s Giving Circle is a program of Heritage Fund — The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County. Its mission is to engage women of all generations and means in philanthropy.
