Five people were arrested after narcotics were found inside a local home.
Columbus police were at a home in the 1800 block of Hiker Trace at 12:10 a.m. Saturday looking for an individual who had fled on foot from officers Friday night, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
When officers approached the home, the smelled a marijuana odor and saw the person they were looking for, Travis J. Sneed, 25, Columbus, quickly enter the home after he saw the officers, Harris said.
Columbus police obtained a search warrant, and located methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the home, Harris said. Sneed was found inside the home and arrested along with Justin S. Sholty, 41, Columbus, who was found hiding in a closet, Harris said.
Sneed was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, resisting law enforcement, visiting a common nuisance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with the warrant, jail officials said.
Sholty was arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, visiting a common nuisance, possession of drug paraphernalia and two Bartholomew County warrants, jail officials said.
Also arrested were:
- Michael Brown, 44, Elizabethtown, on preliminary charges of visiting a common nuisance, body attachment warrant, resisting law enforcement, possession of a legend drug injection device and possession of methamphetamine.
- Susan M. Coomer, 46, Columbus, on preliminary charges of maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a legend drug injection device.
- Jeffrey W. Huddleston Jr., 25, Elizabethtown, on a preliminary charge of visiting a common nuisance.
