Two Columbus men were arrested after a bystander reported that they were trespassing on a property in the 1500 block of Union Street.
Columbus police were called to check an abandoned house there at 3 p.m. Thursday and found two men in the backyard, said Sgt. Alyson Eichel, Columbus Police Department spokeswoman.
Officers identified the two men as Jamie L. Freyn, 48, of 1947 Shiloh Drive, and Craig T. Smith, 49, of 1334 Lafayette Ave., and confirmed that they did not have permission to be there, Eichel said.
Officers found a glass smoking pipe and a metal tin containing methamphetamine in Freyn’s clothing, Eichel said. Smith admitted to officers he had drug paraphernalia in his pockets, and was then arrested.

When searching Smith, a small plastic bag containing methamphetamine was located, Eichel said.
Freyn and Smith were each arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia, Eichel said.
Freyn was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $65,000 bond, jail officials said. Smith was being held in the jail in lieu of $60,000 bond, jail officials said.
