David C. StreitCOLUMBUS
David C. Streit, 62, of Columbus, died at 6:53 p.m. December 15, 2019, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
David was born August 7, 1957, in Columbus, the son of Carl E. and Norma E. Harpring Streit.
He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. David loved fishing, sports and especially loved following I.U. sports.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father Chris Wadelton officiating. Calling will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with a rosary service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Entombement will be at Garland Brook Cemetery Mausoleum.
Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in honor of David.
Survivors include his sisters, Mary Rose “Rosie” (Rob) Lee of Columbus and Sue A. Hurt of Elletsville; a nephew, Duke Lee and nieces, Jess Hurt and Ashley Corbin; along with several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
