A traffic stop led to the arrest of a local man on drug-related charges.
Bartholomew County Sheriff Deputy Ryland Fluhr stopped a vehicle at 8:43 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of North Dellasburg Road, deputies said.
During the stop, a sheriff department K9 alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from inside the vehicle, deputies said.
As passenger, Ronnie Richardson, 47, Columbus, was exiting the vehicle, a small white bag, suspected to be methamphetamine, fell from his person, deputies said.
Four additional bags of suspected methamphetamine were located on Richardson, deputies said. A small amount of marijuana and drug-related paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle.
Richardson was arrested and taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, jail officials said.
Richardson was being held in jail in lieu of $296,000 bond.
