Deputies arrest local woman on drug-related charges after traffic stop

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested a local woman on drug-related charges after a traffic stop at 7:13 p.m. Sunday at 4290 W. Jonathan Moore Pike.

A Columbus police canine alerted to the odor of narcotics inside a vehicle driven by Susan M. Coomer, 48, of 1507 Lafayette Ave., deputies said.

Officers found methamphetamine, marijuana, drug-related paraphernalia and cash inside the vehicle, deputies said.

Coomer was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, deputies said.

She was being held at the jail in lieu of $386,000 bond, jail officials said.
