State: 832 additional Hoosiers diagnosed with COVID-19

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health today announced that 832 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at the state Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. That brings to 91,313 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.

A total of 3,058 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 11 from the previous day. Another 219 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state Department of Health and occurred over multiple days.

Bartholomew County reported 1,039 positive tests (up three) with 54 deaths (no change).

The Bartholomew County Health Department is reporting that 14,585 tests have been administered, with 280 tests pending.

The number of positives of Bartholomew County residents may include testing that was conducted out-of-county. Conversely, the number of total tests may also include submissions for non-Bartholomew County residents.

Surrounding counties reported:

  • Jackson County: 684 positive cases (up three) with eight deaths (no change).
  • Jennings County: 260 positive cases (corrected to 260) with 12 deaths (no change).
  • Decatur County: 389 positive cases (up four) with 34 deaths (no change).
  • Shelby County: 614 positive cases (up five) with 28 deaths (no change).
  • Johnson County: 1,999 positive cases (up nine) with 120 deaths (no change).
  • Brown County: 88 positive cases (up two) with two deaths (no change).

To date, 1,044,049 tests for unique individuals have been reported to the state Department of Health, up from 1,034,746 on Thursday.

As of Friday, nearly 38 percent of ICU beds and nearly 84 percent of ventilators were available across the state.
