As the year draws to an end, Ivy Tech Community College — Columbus has wrapped up the design development phase for its new building and plans to start construction in the new year.
Chancellor Steven Combs said that the building’s floor plan is “locked down,” and design development is complete.
“It gets real now,” Combs said. “So we’re excited to start to see the progress. And they’re going to start work here in January, getting our new building up and running. So we look forward to that.”
He added that the work starting in January will be more “light construction” or “grounds prep,” whereas heavy construction will likely begin around February or March.
