WACO, Texas — NaLyssa Smith scored 20 points, DiJonai Carrington had a double-double and No. 7 Baylor won its 10th game in a row, 70-51 over Oklahoma State on Wednesday night to move the Lady Bears closer to their 11th Big 12 regular-season title in a row.
The Lady Bears (18-2, 13-1 Big 12) took control by scoring the last 17 points before halftime. But that came after a miserable stretch of nearly 9 1/2 minutes when they blew all of an early 14-point lead with nine turnovers while missing 11 of 12 shots.
Carrington had 12 points and 11 rebounds for Baylor, which can clinch at least a share of the Big 12 title with a home win Saturday over Kansas State. Queen Egbo had 13 points and Moon Ursin 11, while Egbo and Smith both had nine rebounds.
While the Lady Bears still have four games to play, Oklahoma State (17-7, 13-5) was the first Big 12 team to complete its regular season
No. 11 INDIANA 77, WISCONSIN 49
MADISON, Wisc. — Mackenzie Holmes scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Indiana rolled past Wisconsin.
Ali Patberg and Nicole Cardano-Hillary added 14 points apiece for Indiana (15-4, 13-2 Big Ten Conference), who won the first meeting 74-49.
The Hoosiers have won six straight to reach their highest ranking in school history.
Julie Pospisilova led Wisconsin (5-16, 2-16) with 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting. The rest of the Badgers were 13 of 47 (28%).
No. 13 SOUTH FLORIDA 56, TEMPLE 47
PHILADELPHIA — Bethy Mununga scored 10 points and grabbed 20 rebounds and South Florida beat Temple to extend a program record with 13th straight victories.
South Florida pulled away in the fourth quarter, opening on a 17-2 run — with scoring from five different players. Temple made just 3 of 14 field goals in the final 10 minutes.
The other four starters for South Florida (14-1, 11-0 American) each scored nine points.
Mia Davis and Jasha Clinton combined for 43 points for Temple (9-9, 9-6).
PENN STATE 69, No. 15 OHIO STATE 67
COLLEGE STATION, Pa. — Niya Beverley scored a career-high 21 points, Makenna Marisa added 17 with eight rebounds and eight assists and Penn State upset Ohio State, ending an 11-game losing streak in the series.
Marisa’s layup with 1:01 to play was the winning basket, set up after Beverley, who was 9-of-11 shooting, grabbed an offensive rebound.
Ohio State followed with a turnover when Dorka Juhasz tried to lob the ball inside to Aaliyah Patty, who got tangled up with a defender. The Buckeyes (13-5, 9-5 Big Ten) forced a desperation airball late in the shot clock but couldn’t get off a shot in the closing 7.8 seconds.
Johnasia Cash added 16 points for the Nittany Lions (9-11, 6-10), who ended a four-game losing streak and beat a top-15 team for the first time since 2016.
IOWA STATE 85, No. 18 WEST VIRGINIA 68
AMES, Iowa — Ashley Joens scored 20 points, Lexi Donarski and Kristin Scott added 18 each, and Iowa State pulled away from West Virginia.
Emily Ryan added 13 points and Kylie Feuerbach 10 for the Cyclones (15-9, 11-6 Big 12 Conference), who went 13 of 27 from 3-point range and 14 of 14 from the foul line for the highest point total allowed by the Mountaineers this season. Ryan added nine assists, giving her an ISU freshman record of 137 this year.
Kysre Gondrezick scored 19 points for West Virginia (17-4, 11-4), who were without starting point guard Madison Smith because of a hamstring injury that will keep her out at least until the postseason. Kirsten Deans added 14 points and Jayla Hemingway 12.
No. 23 MISSOURI STATE 67, SOUTHERN ILLINOIS 55
CARBONDALE, Ill. — Jasmine Franklin led a balanced attack with 14 points and nine rebounds and Missouri State beat Southern Illinois to claim the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title for the 14th time since 1990.
Brice Calip added 13 points and Abby Hipp scored 12 for the Lady Bears (16-2, 12-0), who are off to their best start since the 2003-04 club opened 20-1. They are 12-0 in Valley play for the first time since 1996.
Gabby Walker scored 18 points for Southern Illinois (8-11, 5-9) and Makenzie Silvey added 14
MARQUETTE 85, No. 24 DEPAUL 71
CHICAGO — Selena Lott scored 25 points, Camryn Taylor added 20, combining for 37 in the second half, and Marquette defeated DePaul.
Chloe Marotta added 16 points and Jordan King 13 for the Golden Eagles (17-4, 14-3 Big East), who have won six straight with their first win over a ranked team since beating DePaul at the end of last season. The win clinched the No. 2 seed for the conference tournament next weekend.
Lexi Held scored 23 points for the Blue Demons (16-5, 13-4), who have lost back-to-back games to unranked teams.
No. 25 RUTGERS 63, MICHIGAN STATE 53
EAST LANSING, Mich. — Freshman Diamond Johnson scored 22 points, Arella Guirantes had 11 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, and No. 25 Rutgers used a 24-7 fourth quarter to beat Michigan State for its sixth double-digit victory in a row.
The game took a scary turn after the final buzzer when official Angie Enlund was hurt and taken to a hospital.
Rutgers player Tekia Mack was heading back to the Scarlet Knights bench after the game ended when she inadvertently ran over Enlund at center court, hitting her hard.
Enlund was on the ground for a few minutes and taken off on a stretcher. She did have mobility and movement of her extremities and went to a hospital to be further evaluated.
