Don and Carol Layman of North Vernon are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary with an open house given by their children.
Mr. Layman and the former Carol Spurlock were married on May 27, 1956, at Vernon Baptist Church by the Rev. A. E. Lacey.
Mr. Layman is retired from Cummins Quality Control.
Mrs. Layman is retired from Jennings Community Hospital.
The couple have two children, Shelley Wieske and Doug Layman; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
