W. Warren Brooks

NASHVILLE, INDIANA

W. Warren Brooks, 82, of Nashville, passed away at 1:22 a.m. Sunday June 6, 2021 at Franciscan Health Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born July 2, 1938 in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late Walter C. and Frances Brooks.

Warren served his country in the Air Force Reserves. He previously was employed by Hygrade Foods in Indianapolis and retired after 28 years’ service with The Republic as the pre-press manager. He enjoyed woodworking and tending to his lawn.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday June 11, 2021 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Garland Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Brown County Humane Society or Riley Hospital for Children.

Warren is survived by his daughters, Gail (John) Bryant of Hope, Melanie Hargis of Columbus, Amy (Randy) Thompson of Hope and Trena (Scott) Riley of Columbus; his son, Mark Brooks of Columbus;15 grandchildren, Holly (Troy) Cowan, Amber (Jason) Hopkins, Nathan (Erin) Bryant, Jeremy (Cindy) Day, Daniel (Sarah) Day, Courtney (Josh) Rhoades, Josh Thompson, Nicholas (Jessica) Wise, David (Kacey) Riley, Shawn (Kylie) Riley, Jordan (Dominique) Riley, Kristian (Nikki) MacDonald, Hannah (Nic) Brooks, Shelby (Tim) Brooks and Samantha (Gavin) Brooks; 26 great grandchildren, Dylan Cowan, Nicole (Joe) Hauer, Megan Cowan, Austin Cowan, Rachel Hopkins, Brooke Hopkins, Caleb Hopkins, Jackson Bryant, Mason Bryant, Ava Bryant, Ryder Hill, Logan Day, Cora Day, Carter Taylor, Konnor MacDonald, Valerie Barrientos, Juliet Barrientos, Henry Hartwell, Danica Thompson, Ava Fisher, Owen Fisher, Izzy Riley, Mason Riley, Gabriel Riley, Lucas Riley and Max Riley;3 great-great grandchildren, Walker Cowan, Rome Hauer and Aliyah Cowan and Warren’s faithful four-legged companion Cody.
