Dean’s list released by UIndy

INDIANAPOLIS — The University of Indianapolis recently released its dean’s list for the spring 2021 semester. Students were required to earn a GPA of 3.7 or better while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours. Area students included:

Columbus: Brooklyn Burbrink, Tanner Hatton, Emma Jackson, Lauryn James, Katelyn Orosco-Murphy, Hannah Sabotin, Mark Sciutto.

Elizabethtown: Alec Burnett, Maia Campbell.

Edinburgh: Madeline Gravelin, Mallory Mays, Peyton McKay, Kearstin Olnick, Jacob Swanson, McKenna Tetrick, Emma Wade.

Hope: Addison Galarno.

Nashville: Kortnee Lucas, Kyra Moffitt, William Redding, Jacob Riehl.

North Vernon: Allison Clark, Brian Galliher, Emily Guffey, Laremie Maschino, Chance Newkirk.

Locals graduate from Franklin Collge

FRANKLIN — Franklin College’s 2021 commencement took place on May 22 in Stewart “Red” Faught Stadium on the Franklin College campus. The college conferred 194 undergraduate degrees and 25 graduate degrees. Local students receiving bachelor’s degrees included:

Columbus: James L. Bailey-Smith (biology), Emily N. Dalton (biochemstry), Emily D. Joyce (elementary education), Abigail J. Larken (creative writing), Claire D. Martin (theatre), Alexander J. Prohaska (mathematics), Jared B. Schoen (business), Adelina M. Smith (art studio).

Elizabethtown: Reilly M. Jones (business).

DePauw announces dean’s list, graduates

GREENCASTLE — DePauw University recently named its spring 2021 dean’s list recipients. The list recognizes students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Brooklyn Hamblen, Samuel Heichelbech, Grant Jackson and Joshua Major, all of Columbus, and Edinburgh’s Cheridan Ross, were all on the dean’s list. Hamblen, Heichelbech and Ross also graduated this spring.

Local named to NIU dean’s list

DEKALB, IL — Columbus East alum Andrew Hasson was recently named to Northern Illinois University’s dean’s list for the 2021 spring semester.

To earn this distinction, the biological sciences major had to meet a minimum of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale.

Columbus natives make OU dean’s list

ATHENS, OH — More than 7,800 students qualified for the spring semester 2021 dean’s list at Ohio University, including main and regional campuses.

Due to COVID-19, OU students who earned 12 semester hours of credit, including at least six hours attempted for letter grades, with a minimum grade point average of at least 3.5 achieved this distinction.

Columbus natives Rita Grote and Olivia Morlok were both on the list.
