Barbara Jean Wilson, 84, of Columbus passed away Friday, June 11, 2021, at her home.

Barbara was born in Elizabethtown, Indiana March 22, 1937, the daughter of William Harold and Freeda G. Wilber Adams. She married Allan K. Wilson June 7, 1958.

She was a 1955 graduate of Columbus High School and a 1956 graduate of Approved Beauty School in Indianapolis. She was a Hair Stylist for 57 years in Kentucky and Indiana, retiring from the Cameo Room in Columbus in 2015.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Columbus and was a former member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed crafts; making just about anything.

Barbara was an exemplary Pastor’s Spouse; soloing and singing in church choirs, teaching Sunday School, cleaning and cooking at church suppers, all while keeping in line her husband, children and a few parishioners and did it all with a smile and a little humor.

She is survived by her husband, Allan K. of Columbus; daughters, Becky (Dave Whittington) Perry of Columbus and Jennifer A. (Reggie Booker) Nichols of Columbus; sons, Robert A. (Leslie) Wilson of Anderson, IN and Timothy K. Wilson of Columbus; sister, Joyce D. Adams of Columbus; 15 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her, parents; brother, Robert H. Adams; 1 granddaughter; 2 grandsons; 6 nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Sarah Campbell officiating. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. to service time Thursday at the church.
