Two arrested after traffic stop

Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested two people Sunday on multiple charges after a 7:06 p.m. traffic stop in the area of Sixth Street and Pleasant Grove.

Deputy Bandon Sellers initiated the traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Winston Zink, 36, 4102 Old State Road 46E, Nashville. Sellers found Zink to be operating without a driver’s license and also had an active body attachment.

K9 Jari was deployed and alerted to the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle where a white crystal substance, a white powdery substance and a controlled substance were located, deputies said.

Zink was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, driving while suspended with a prior conviction, operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license, operating a vehicle with an altered license plate and the body attachment.

Zink remains in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $68,500 bond, jail officials said.

Zink’s passenger, Mackcena Kirby, 49, of 1108 Eighth St., was arrested on a preliminary charge of

possession of controlled substance. Kirby remains in BCJ in lieu of $5,000 bond.
