James “J.C.” C. Louden

James “J.C.” C. Louden, 86, of Columbus, passed from this life at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.

Mr. Louden was born on June 14, 1935, in Westport, Kentucky the son of William and Sally Ann Abbott Louden. He married Martha J. Kemp on June 19, 1952.

J.C. retired from Golden Foundry after 42 years of service and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his children, Terry Louden of Columbus, Robert (Brenda) Louden of Columbus, Jim (Sheryll) Louden of Columbus, Vickie (Eric) Haston of Greensburg, Chris (Susan) Louden of Kentucky, Matthew (Lisa) Louden of Oklahoma and Andrew Louden of Columbus; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Reva Combs of Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha J. Louden on April 10, 2021; sons, J.C. Louden Jr., Lesley Bruce Louden and Steven Lynn Louden; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; seven brothers; and six sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Jeff Jones officiating. Family and friends may call for visitation from 12 noon to time of services Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
