Edward Walton Jones

LAS VEGAS, NEV.

Edward Walton Jones was born June 23, 1929 to his parents, Joseph and Helen Jones at Woman’s Hospital in Pasadena, CA. Ed passed from his earthly home on Thursday, June 10, 2021 to join his bride of 68 years in their heavenly and eternal home.

Ed met Eleanor, his wife-to-be, at Minnesota Bible College. They were married September 13, 1952.

He is survived by his five boys; David, Neil, Richard, Matthew, and Christopher.

He loved his wife, boys, daughters-in-law; Deborah, Lisa, Jennifer, Tanya, Debbie, and Rhonda. Ed loved his grandchildren; Natalie, Jeremy, and his wife Emily, Jessica, and her husband Adrian, Christopher, Daniel, Amanda, and her husband Daniel, Edward, and his wife Abby, Ryan, Dylan, Bailey, Peyton, Christopher (CJ) and Peri. Ed has six great grand children; Emma, Alexandra, Adrian David, Isabella, Harrison, and Livia. He is also survived by his nephew Robert Harry and his wife Diane, his niece Sandra Laughton and her husband Larry.

Dad has a brother Dick Jones and sister Frances Harry and her husband Ralph Harry who he is with in heaven.

Ed and Eleanor lived in Columbus, IN from 1968 to 1978. Ed was the Youth minister at First Christian Church where he led an active and life changing ministry. He would take the youth groups on many outings including horse back riding at Brown County State Park. He also coached the high school age boys basketball team at the church Youth Center.

Ed also enjoyed music, was blessed with a wonderful voice, and sang in the church choir at First Christian Church. Ed also sang tenor in the Gospel Four quartet in and after college. Ed will always be remembered for his youthful spirit and his welcoming smile. He will be greatly missed by his family, his friends, and those that knew him. He was a devoted husband, father and a man that followed God’s calling for his lifetime.

Memorial Service : Saturday July 3, 2021 from 8:30 am to10:00 am visitation followed by 10:00 am service and crypt side.
