SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Two South Bend brothers face charges in connection with a shooting that injured a man last month at a northern Indiana shopping mall, prosecutors said Friday.
Luke Murphy, 24, was charged with attempted murder and battery for allegedly firing more than a dozen shots at Shaqkil Cotton, 27, outside the University Park Mall in Mishawaka after the two men had argued.
Cotton suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Dontrell Smith, 31, was charged with assisting a criminal for allegedly driving Murphy away from the scene, prosecutors said.
Murphy was arrested in Gary on Thursday by federal marshals and transported to St. Joseph County. Smith remained at large Friday afternoon.
