COLUMBUS
Ethan John Kuniewicz, 15, of Columbus passed from this life at 5:25 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2021.
Ethan was born on March 2, 2006, in Springfield, Massachusetts the son of Mark Robert Kuniewicz and Sandy Wasco Kuniewicz.
Ethan was going into 10th grade at Columbus North High School and played hockey for both the Columbus Icemen and the Junior Fuel U15 AAA hockey teams. Ethan was an absolute joy to be around. He made an effort to say hello to everyone that passed by him, and his smile lit up the room. Everyone that met him loved him. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Mark R. Kuniewicz of Columbus and Sandy Wasco Kuniewicz of Columbus; sister, Morgan Kuniewicz of Columbus; grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Wasco and Dave and Shirley Kuniewicz; aunts and uncles, Lynn (Mike) Hartle and Laurie (Dave) King; and cousins, Ryan Hartle, Lindsey Hartle, Ryan King, and Rachel King.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Westside Community Church with Pastor Robert Vester officiating.
Family and friends may call for visitation on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to time of service at the church.
A private burial will be held at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be given in memory of Ethan to the Columbus Icemen.
