Christopher J. Davis, 43, of Columbus, passed unexpectedly, Tuesday June 29, 2021, at his home.

Mr. Davis was born January 13, 1978, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Dan and Laura Lewellyn Davis.

Chris was formerly employed with Cummins Engine Company and attended All Saints Elementary and Northside Middle School.

He graduated from Columbus East High School where he was a member of the golf and wrestling teams.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Chris had a smile that would light up a room and a special humor that was well known to all.

His health deteriorated shortly after high school and continued until his passing.

Survivors include his parents, Dan and Laura Davis of Columbus; children, Maggie Jo Davis of Muncie and Eli Jackson Davis of Columbus; brothers, Brad Davis and Aaron Davis both of Columbus; uncles, Owen Fry of Chesterfield, Gary (Sandra) Davis Jr. of Columbus and Thomas (Pamela) Davis of Memphis, TN; great-uncle, Right Reverend Thomas X. Davis of Vina, CA; cousins, Rebecca (Adam) Davis Walker of Memphis, TN and Marc Fry of Chesterfield; nephew, Samuel Reid Davis of Brown County and a niece, Cassidy A. Davis of Brown County.

He had a special place in his heart for his children, family, friends, his dog Diesel and his cats.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gary F. Davis Sr., Edna M. Davis, Gerald Lewellyn and Nelva Lewellyn and cousins, James Bryan Fry and John Alan Fry and an aunt, Teresa Lewellyn Fry.

The funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Dr. William Bailey and Jimmy Bennett officiating.

Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Christopher’s children’s college fund. Checks payable to Maggie and Eli through the funeral home.
