Garry E. Sallee

SCIPIO

Garry E. Sallee, 60, of Scipio, formerly of Vernon, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021.

He was the son of Norma Sallee of Vernon and the late James Sallee. On June 29, 1996, he married Cynthia Giles and she survives. Other survivors include two sisters, Doris Chamlee of Panama City, Florida and Mary Kay (Dennis) Cummings of North Vernon; and one brother, J. Michael (Linda) Sallee of Palmyra. Extended family includes sister in-law, Beth (Rich) Purnell of Colorado; brothers in-law, Mark (Donna) Lawson of Scipio and James (Kathy) Giles of North Vernon; nieces, Trinity Giles, Susan Olds, Desiree Cummings, Denise Cummings-Leonard, Mazzy Purnell, Marley Jones, Kelli Streeval, Destiny Lawson, and Cara Byerley; and nephews, Damin Cummings and Rocco Purnell.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Sallee; sister in-law, Sondra Giles; and mother and father in-law, Elizabeth and David Giles.

Garry worked for Arvin’s Industries in Columbus for many years. He retired and moved to the country which was always a dream that he and Cindy had.

When he was young, he enjoyed art, painting, and drawing. He designed the first tee-shirt for Skinnari’s Novelty Shop in Vernon. He loved his cats, computer games, cooking, woodworking, landscaping, and NASCAR.

Services will be held on Tuesday, August 3rd from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:00 p.m. at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Garry through the funeral home to Alzheimer’s Association.
