Olympians outscore Owls
SEYMOUR — Harley Gant fired an even-par 37 on the back nine at Shadowood to win medalist honors and lead Columbus East to a 170-210 win against Seymour on Monday.
Carter Gant carded a 42 for the Olympians. Katie Hong added a 45, Peyton Meier shot 46, Cristen Martinez had a 50, Lilly Steinwedel finished with a 51 and Avery Brooks had a 65.
North downs Woodmen
FRANKLIN — No. 18 Columbus North picked up a 169-190 win against Greenwood at Hillview.
Gwen Anderson led the Bull Dogs with a 40. Macy Euler carded a 41, Ella Wilks added a 42, Ritisha Rashmil shot 46, Erin Hopkins had a 53, Lindsey Hartwell finished with a 56 and Reese Euler had a 59.
Eagles stop Spartans
NASHVILLE — Ainslie Winton won medalist honors with a 46 to lead Brown County to a 207-259 win against Southwestern (Shelby) at Salt Creek.
Hannah deWeerdt carded a 53 for the Eagles. Annika Evenson and Lilly VanNess each shot 54, Savannah Poling added a 60, Abby Padgett had a 62 and Mattie Satter finished with a 66.
Lancers pick up victory
EDINBURGH — Edinburgh scored a victory with a 217 against a Triton Central unit that did not have enough players to score as a team.
Macie Blandford and Hannah Pile each shot 54 to lead the Lancers. Izzy Richardsom carded a 54, Jillian Turner added a 57, Gracie Myers shot 61, Cloee Britton had a 62 and Ciera Myers had a 69.
Panthers finish second
NORTH VERNON — Jennings County finished second in a tri match at St. Anne’s. Batesville won with a 158 to 185 for the Panthers and 223 for Milan.
Sophia Curry led Jennings with a 40. Alexis Carson carded 43, Lauren Galvan added a 46, Emma Jones shot 56 and Emma Kirchner had a 63.

East falls to Panthers
Columbus East opened its season with a 5-0 loss to Bloomington South in a match that was moved from East to Columbus North.
Derek Heideman fell to David Ciucu 7-6 (4), 6-0 at No. 1 singles, Matthew Degner lost to Luka Jovanovic 7-6 (4), 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Lincoln West fell to Austin Spier 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Olympians.
East’s Brady Redelman and Henry Ulrich lost to Mike Asplund and Chris Lian 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. Tyler Ernst and Ethan Bumbalough fell to Nico Walters and Alex Walters 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
Jennings blanks Milan
MILAN — Jennings County won all five matches in straight sets in a season-opening 5-0 win at Milan.
Owen Law blanked Shane Phelps 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, Jansen McDonald beat Caleb Prozanski 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles and Alex Leach downed Cayden Green 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles for the Panthers.
Jennings’ Jacob Vogel and Justin Ramey topped Adam Volz and Jake McGuire 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, Greyson Jackson and Ryan Schuck defeated Jon Scholle and Brandon Bentley 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

Tigers sweep Crusaders
Columbus Christian opened its season with a 25-18, 25-17, 25-14 loss to Crothersville.
Kaylee Oliphant pounded one kill and one block, and Emma Sewell recorded one assist and three aces for the Crusaders. Anika Jenkins had four digs and two aces.
Trinity tops Henryville
HENRYVILLE — Class A No. 2 Trinity Lutheran opened its season with a 25-15, 25-9, 25-9 win at Henryville.
Stella Kleffman led the Cougars with 13 digs and five aces. Ruthie Bingham pounded 15 kills, Addyson Darlage recorded 33 assists.
Also for Trinity, Carson Bowling added nine kills, and Bailey Tabeling had seven kills. Kamzi Gross tallied 11 digs, and Bingham had six digs.
CROSS-COUNTRY
Cougar boys take third
SHELBYVILLE — South Decatur’s boys won the Green Division in the Triton Central Early Bird Invitational, scoring 22 points for 44 for runner-up Waldron.
Trevor Newby finished third in 19 minutes, 53 seconds for 5,000 meters (3.1 miles) to lead the Cougars. Joshua Shouse took ninth in 21:18, while Chase Kalli was 13th (22:26), Bradley Walling 17th (22:56) and Tyler Hibberd 19th (23:04).
Edinburgh had three runners. Rylan Londeree finished 30th in 31:04, while Anduan Chaves took 31st (33:09) and Ethan Campbell 32nd (34:17).
In the girls meet, South Decatur finished third in the Green Division with 62 points. Bridget Nobbe led the Cougars with an 11th-place finish in 20:07, while Brayley Sundal took 17th (29:37), Elizabeth Flessner 20th (32:01), Kylie Best 21st (32:08) and Sami Storm 23rd (34:47).
Edinburgh had two runners. Alanna Hobbs finished 24th in 39:43, and Chloe Greathouse was 25th in 39:53.
