COLUMBUS
Betty Joan Calhoun, 90, of Columbus, passed from this life at 4:22 a.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Calhoun was born June 21, 1931, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Jesse and Ghita Isaacs Haskett.
She married Bobby K. Calhoun April 14, 1950, he preceded her in death July 10, 2000.
Betty was a member of First Christian and was formerly employed with Standard Specialty Company and Casey and H.L. Rost Jewelry Stores.
Survivors include her daughter, Bobbie Jo Benefield of Columbus; grandson, Jeromy Benefield of Columbus; great-granddaughter, Baylee Benefield; 2 step-great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Kirk Benefield and a brother, Dwayne Haskett.
A private family graveside inurnment service will be held at the Garland Brook Mausoleum.
