Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested an Elizabethtown man in a traffic stop, later accusing him of multiple drug-related offenses.
Sheriff Deputy Brandon Sellers was patrolling near North U.S. 31 and West Shady Lane at 7:36 p.m. Saturday when he initiated a traffic stop at West South Line Drive.
Sellers located the vehicle parked in front of a residence in the 1400 block of West Shady Lane, deputies said.
As Sellers initiated his emergency lights, a passenger in the vehicle attempted to walk away. After being stopped, the passenger was identified as Triston Barlow, 25, Elizabethtown, who had multiple outstanding Bartholomew County warrants, deputies said.
Multiple drug-related items were located on Barlow’s person including 12.4 grams of fentanyl, approximately 2 grams of methamphetamine and drug-related paraphernalia, deputies said.
BCSO K9 Jari was deployed and alerted to narcotics inside the vehicle. After obtaining a search warrant, multiple drug related paraphernalia items, white powder, narcotics packaging material and a narcotics sale ledger were located inside the vehicle, deputies said.
Barlow was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of:
Dealing in a narcotic drug
Possession of a narcotic drug
Possession of methamphetamine
Possession of paraphernalia
Multiple outstanding Bartholomew County arrest warrants
Barlow was being held without bond at the Bartholomew County Jail, jail officials said.
