COLUMBUS
Christina K. “Tina” Purtlebaugh, 60, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 9:35 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021, at her home.
Tina was born in Columbus, Indiana, September 26, 1961, the loving daughter of Clyde and Elizabeth A. Quick Neal. On February 29, 1988, Tina married Allen Purtlebaugh; he survives.
Tina was a longtime teacher’s assistant in the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation working at CSA Fodrea Elementary and Clifty Creek Elementary.
Tina enjoyed spending time with her family and dogs, laughing, gardening, listening to music, and teaching her beloved students.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of 33 years, Allen; her loving daughter, Megan Purtlebaugh of Columbus; her mother, Elizabeth A. Neal of Columbus; sisters, Beth Ann (Jay) Neeb of Columbus, Julie (David) Robertson of Columbus, and Andrea (Stephen) Carlile of Columbus; brother, Bruce (Nancy) Neal of Hope; brothers and sisters-in-law, J.R. and Tasha Purtlebaugh of Columbus, Darlene and Terry Garrity of Seymour, and Donna and Bill Robbins of Columbus; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and her sweet puppies, Junie and Luna.
Tina was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Neal, September 22, 2021.
The funeral service celebrating Tina’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street; Pastor Tracy McIntyre will officiate. A live stream of the funeral service may be viewed at barkesweaverglick.com.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Tina will be laid to rest in Section 74 at Garland Brook Cemetery after a private family committal service.
