COLUMBUS
Brenda Kay Brandner, 73, of Columbus passed from this life on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at IU Health Methodist Hospital.
Born March 25, 1948, in Washington, Indiana to parents James J. Summers and Alma J. (Walker) Summers.
Brenda graduated from Montgomery High School and from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. She retired from Edward Jones Investments with the title of Senior Branch Office Administrator and often mentioned how much she enjoyed serving the customers and building special friendships through the years.
Surviving family members include a son, Everett E. Dolphin, a sister Anna (Larry) Bogard from Columbus and sister-in-law Karen Summers from Woodland Park, Colorado. Brenda adored her nieces and nephews Trent (Renee) Bogard of Seymour, Tracy (Fred) Walden of Spencer, Theresa Bogard of Bloomington, and her great nieces and nephews Kelsey (Kenn) Seymour of Greenwood, Nathan (Becky) Bogard of Louisville, Ryan and Hannah Walden of Spencer, and Warren Seymour of Greenwood. The family also includes many, many cousins.
Brenda was a faithful member of Community Church of Columbus, serving with several ministries. She had also been involved with Emmaus and a volunteer for years with Ethnic Expo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert V. Summers, and an infant son Shane Dolphin.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Church of Columbus Building Fund.
