BOYS BASKETBALL

North finishes 7th

Columbus North jumped out to a 13-3 first quarter lead and eventually cruised to a 57-28 victory over Roncalli to finish in seventh place in the Noblesville Tournament. Ty Ferguson finished with 15 points and Sam King added 12 for the Bull Dogs (7-5).

Hauser takes 5th

Hauser had a 30-25 lead at halftime, but pulled away in the second half for a 59-42 win in the fifth place game of the Edinburgh Tournament. Eli Miller finished with a game-high 22 points, Koby Johnson had 14 and Bryce Bates added 11 for the Jets (6-5).

Cougars place 3rd

South Decatur defeated North White 85-78 to win take third place in the Edinburgh Tournament. Hunter Johnson finished with 32 points for the Cougars (6-6).

Lancers win tourney

Edinburgh stays unbeaten on the year by upsetting Class A No. 7 Indianapolis Lutheran 60-48 to win its own tournament. Caleb Dewey scored 28 points for the Lancers (10-0).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bull Dogs win close

Columbus North trailed 20-16 after the first quarter, but came back to lead 47-43 after the third quarter. They eventually held on for a 58-53 victory over Henry Clay (Ky.) at the Jeffersonville Shootout. Lauren Barker finished with a game-high 24 points and Kylah Lawson added 10 for the Bull Dogs (8-4).

Panthers win twice

Jennings County won its first game 59-28 over Martinsville in the Ben Davis Classic. Alivia Elmore finished with a game-high 22 points. Juliann Woodard had 14 and Maddie McIntosh added 13.

In the second game, the Panthers defeated Avon 66-42. Woodard finished with a game-high 35 points and Elmore added 16 for the Panthers (11-3).
