GIRLS SWIMMING

Trio compete at state

INDIANAPOLIS — Three local swimmers saw their seasons come to an end in the prelims of the Girls Swimming State Finals Friday night.

Columbus East’s Ellie Proffitt finished 25th in the in the 50-yard frestyle in 24.53 seconds. Jennings County’s Avery Witt took 29th in the 200 freestyle (58.62), and Reagan Brown was 28th in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.17).

The Olympians’ Gabbie Meier will compete in the diving event today.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Columbus Christian rolls

INDIANAPOLIS — Columbus Christian jumped out to a 34-8 halftime lead and went on to roll to a 51-12 win at Horizon Christian.

Sarrah Lorimor led the Crusaders (14-11) with 24 points. Madi Blair added eight.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Jets fall to Eagles

OSGOOD — Hauser was within 15-11 after one quarter, but Jac-Cen-Del pulled away for a 78-54 victory.

Bryce Bates led the Jets (7-11) with 17 points and nine rebounds. Koby Johnson scored 14 points, and Eli Miller added nine.

Horizon tops Crusaders

INDIANAPOLIS — Columbus Christian came away with a 62-52 loss at Horizon Christian.

Gabe Ridder led the Crusaders (18-11) with 18 points. Peyton Rehlander scored 13, Noah Edwards had nine and Cody Kiefer added eight.

Lancers rout Hornets

EDINBURGH — Class A No. 2 Edinburgh bounced back from Tuesday’s loss to Shelbyville with a 63-40 win against Medora.

Travis Jones led the Lancers (16-2) with 21 points. Jarrett Turner scored 14, and Travis Vidal added nine.

Cougars down Mohawks

WALDRON — South Decatur jumped out to a 22-13 lead after one quarter and went on to post a 75-65 Mid-Hoosier Conference win at Waldron.

Hunter Johnson led the Cougars (10-9, 3-1) with 26 points. Jacob Scuggs scored 23, Dale Peters had 11 and Evan Wullenweber added nine.
