Hauser snaps skid

HOPE — Hauser snapped a four-game losing streak Friday night with a 54-52 win against Milan.

Koby Johnson and Bryce Bates each scored 15 points to lead the Jets (8-12). Eli Miller had 10 points, Taeshaun Tungate added nine points and nine rebounds and Alex Cord dished out seven assists.

Cougars top Bull Dogs

BLOOMINGTON — Bloomington North used a 13-0 run to close the first half and begin the second half, and that was the difference in the Cougars’ 53-40 victory against Columbus North in a battle for the Conference Indiana title.

The Bull Dogs (15-6, 4-1) led 20-15 with 2 1/2 minutes left in the first half before the Cougars (16-3, 5-0) scored the final eight points of the second quarter and the first five of the third to take a 28-20 lead. Columbus North got back to within 30-27 with 3 1/2 minutes left in the third quarter, but could get no closer.

Sam King led the Bull Dogs with 15 points and three rebounds. Luke Harmon added eight points and three rebounds.

Columbus Christian falls

Columbus Christian was within 24-20 at halftime, but Heartland Christian pulled away for a 61-37 win.

Gabe Ridder led the Crusaders (19-14) with 11 points. Peyton Rehlander and Payton Walden each added seven.

Lancers top Cougars

EDINBURGH — Class A No. 4 Edinburgh jumped out to a 29-9 lead after one quarter and went on to finish unbeaten in the Mid-Hoosier Conference for only the third time in school history with a 100-73 win against South Decatur.

Caleb Dewey led the Lancers (18-2, 6-0) with 28 points. Jarrett Turner and Travis Jones each scored 18, Riley Palmeter had 17 and Landen Burton added 10.

Hunter Johnson scored 30 points to lead the Cougars (10-10, 3-2). Jacob Scruggs added 21.

Panthers down Rebels

HANOVER — Jennings County hit 12 3-pointers in a 68-48 win at Southwestern (Hanover).

Carter Kent scored 14 points, and Jacob Vogel recorded 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists to lead the Panthers (13-6). Cole Sigler had nine points, and Keegan Manowitz added eight points and five assists.

Eagles fall to Cougars

GREENWOOD — Brown County outscored Greenwood Christian Academy in the second half, but couldn’t overcome a 34-12 halftime deficit in a 60-41 defeat.

Ben Wagler led the Eagles (2-16) with 13 points. Kaydon Bellmore added nine.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Crusaders edge Heartland

Columbus Christian trailed 10-8 after one quarter, but rallied for a 39-36 win against Heartland Christian.

Sarah Lorimor led the Crusaders (16-12) with 20 points. Madi Blair and Paige Harden each added six.
