Columbus police officers arrested a wanted person after a foot pursuit on Monday evening. At approximately 6:20 p.m., CPD officers observed a female run inside a home in the 1500 block of Chestnut Street, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
Moments later, the woman was seen exiting the house and she began running westbound on 15th Street. When the woman, who was later identified as Lindsey P. Smith, 33, of Taylorsville, observed law enforcement officers, she quickly changed directions and began running the opposite direction. Officers ordered Smith to stop, however, she continued running from officers. Smith was detained a short time later and officers determined that she had a Bartholomew County warrant for her arrest, Harris said.
Smith was placed under arrest and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement and the warrant.
She was being held without bond in jail, jail officials said.
