COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus police officers responding to a reported overdose at a Columbus residence on Monday afternoon arrested three people after narcotics and drug paraphernalia were located inside the home.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m. Monday, CPD officers responded to a report of an overdose inside a home in the 900 block of California Street, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
When officers arrived, they located a woman who was unresponsive and not breathing. The officers administered two rounds of Narcan and used an Ambu-Bag to assist the woman with breathing, Harris said. The woman was revived a short time later and eventually transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment.
While inside the home, officers observed narcotics in plain view and they applied for and later received a search warrant for the house. During a search of the home, the officers located drugs including methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia including syringes and digital scales, Harris said.
The following persons were arrested on the preliminary charges listed below as part of the ongoing investigation:
–Kate N. Thomas, 25, of Columbus: Bartholomew County warrant, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a legend drug injection device, possession of drug paraphernalia, visiting a common nuisance
–Robert C. Arney, 48, of Columbus: Maintaining a common nuisance, possession of methamphetamine, obstruction of justice, possession of a syringe, possession of drug paraphernalia
–Shelby B. Yates, 25, of Columbus: Visiting a common nuisance
