COLUMBUS, Ind. — An Indianapolis man has been arrested following a Bartholomew County Sheriff Department investigation into a fire later ruled as arson at a home in the 400 block of South National Road.
Antonio L. Dickerson, 39, Indianapolis, has been arrested and accused of an arson at the home at 6:37 p.m. Feb. 22, sheriff deputies said.

On Feb. 22, Sgt. Andrew Whipker and Deputy Nate Nichols, as well as several firefighters from Columbus Township,Elizabethtown, Wayne Township and Clay Township were sent to the fire, and found the home fully engulfed in flames. Bartholomew County Fire Inspector, Gene Wever, conducted an investigation and determined Dickerson was allegedly responsible for setting the fire.
Detective Dane Duke was assigned to the arson investigation and alleged threats to the victim. As a result, a warrant was issued on March 11 for Dickerson’s arrest.
Dickerson was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail where he remains in lieu of $1 million bond.
