Letter: Lack of help for woman in need raises a question for all of us

From: Don and Norma Wall

I just have one question: What kind of people live in Columbus, Indiana? Here’s is why I ask this question. On a recent Saturday evening, my niece and her daughter were at the Dairy Queen when she had a medical emergency. She passed out in the parking lot and later had to have emergency surgery.

Many people walked by. Not one person asked to help, what the problem was, can we call someone; nothing. Her daughter struggled to get her mother to their car so she could call for help.

Folks, this is mid-America. The perception is that we care for each other. What has happened to us? What if this was your family member or a friend? What an example to our children. Come on folks, we are better than this.
