The 49th Paris Crossing Alumni Association Banquet will meet on Friday, June 24 at the Pines Evergreen Room on US 31 near Seymour, the same location as in previous years.
Those who attended any of the three Jennings County schools — Lovett, Marion, and Paris Crossing (Brush Creek) — are urged to attend. The social hour will start at 5 p.m., dinner will be at 6 p.m., and the program at 7:15 p.m.
Because the 2020 and 2021 banquets were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, multiple classes will be honored at this year’s banquet.
Classes to be honored are 75 year: 1945, 1946, 1947; 70 year: 1950, 1951, 1952; 65 year: 1955, 1956, 1957; and 60 year: 1960, 1961.
Organizers are asking members of these classes to work hard at getting all classmates here for the celebration. The alums traveling the greatest distance, and the oldest alumni present will be recognized.
The association will remember those who have passed since the last meeting in June 2019 with a memorial program.
A silent auction will be held, and members are encouraged to bring collectibles, crafts and antiques. Also, Louise Malcomb will make a presentation about the association’s new website and the 2022 scholarship recipients will be recognized.
Meals will be $25 for each member, spouse, and/or guest. Send reservation fees by June 10 to: Paris Crossing Alumni Association, c/o Mary Lou Nugent, Treasurer, 5130 N. Kings Way, North Vernon, IN 47265. Make checks payable to Paris Crossing Alumni Association. Donations also will be accepted.
