Founders Friday’s to feature entrepreneurs

The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce and Velocities will feature weekly conversations with 12 business founders rooted in Columbus.

The free events take place from 8 to 9 a.m. Fridays through the end of August at Lucabe Coffee Co., on Fourth Street in downtown Columbus. Coffee will be provided.

Each week, one business founder shares the ups and downs of his or her entrepreneurial journey. The popular event was known as 49 Fridays when it launched in 2019.

Velocities is a partnership with Elevate Ventures and The Mill in Bloomington that is growing the startup and entrepreneurial landscape in Bartholomew and Monroe counties.

The program schedule includes:Friday: Aaron Hunter, Deliverend, Tracking Football and Digital Amoeba, serves as chief revenue officer for Trillfit in the fitness industry.

June 10: Tony Moravec, Applied Laboratories/Blairex, talking about how he built a business in his in-laws living room that now includes pharmaceuticals, real estate and beer.

June 17: Dawn Andrews, Garb2Art, who built a cosmetics and skincare line featured on national television and sold in boutiques and national retail chains.

June 24: Steve Booher, SmartGuided Systems, founder of a GPS-enabled precision spraying system that is now a global operation with relationships with John Deere and Kubota.

July 1: No program due to July 4th holiday.

July 8: Kilah Dickey, Online High School Transcripts, creating a more seamless process of transferring high school transcripts while recongizing the challenges of expanding online schools.

July 15: Shatru Thimmappa, Rigbot, two former Cummins engineers created an e-log platform.

July 22: Renata Nunez, Panthera Candleworks, mother and son creating candles and a make-your-own candle bar experience from sustainable products.

July 29: Niv Sharma, Untowed, autonomous, contact-free towing apparatus with potential to revolutionize towing.

Aug. 5: David Bosley, Aeroflux, exploring a market for a patented power solution.

Aug. 12: Michael King, Daxeos, a platform that connects, secures and transforms automotive testing data into actionable intelligence.

Aug. 19: Ganesh Gandhieswaran, Conversight.AI, employes natural voice recognition and artificial intelligence to empower supply chain leaders to gain visibility and control of inventory.

Aug. 26: Amanda Cox, Amanda Cox Coaching LLC, a community for improving personal health outcomes.
