SEYMOUR
Margaret Ann Smith, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on November 7, 2022, at her home. She was born in Scottsburg, Indiana, to the late Howard and Wanda Owen. On November 12, 2000, she married the love of her life, John Smith.
Margaret was a member of Weston Baptist Church in Jennings County. She graduated from Columbus High School and then went on to receive her associate degree in Art and Physical Education from Ball State University. She retired as an employment counselor for the state of Indiana, Workforce Development. She enjoyed painting, working in her yard, and flowers. She was a NASCAR fan and an avid reader. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and their dog, Sadie Mae.
She is survived by her husband, John Smith; her daughters, Amy Hatton and Susanne (Patrick) Meyer; her three grandchildren, Matthew Hatton, Abigail Meyer, and Katherine Margaret Meyer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard Owen and Wanda (Burrell) Owen.
Visitation will be held at Voss &Sons Funeral Service on Saturday November 12, 2022, from 12pm until the time of service at 2pm with the Rev. Lee Maggard. Burial will follow service at Uniontown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, family request memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice.
