SPRINGFIELD,IL
Aana C Dorn 60, passed peacefully while taking a nap Saturday, November 5th at her home in Springfield, IL.
Aana was the first of four children born to Gary and Sylvia (Sali) Dorn who still reside in Columbus, IN.
Aana was a devoted and loving mother to her son Dakota E. Sims also from Springfield. She was also blessed with 2 grandsons Waylon 8, and Wesley 6. She spent most of her time nurturing and spoiling her boys and many other honorary children and grandchildren. You could find her in the barn or out riding her beloved horse named Reo. Aana had a great love and a unique gift for working with horses and other animals. She was able to build her life around them. One of the special things about her that she never acknowledged was her ability to connect and lift up and love others who needed care. She counted them as family and maintained the relationships for many years. Aana was beautiful inside and out. Although her blonde hair and blue eyes lit up the room, it was her wonderful sense of humor and her laugh that really drew others to her. She was lovely. Even if she was in overalls and dirty boots.
Aana left behind Son Dakota Sims and grandson’s Waylon and Wesley of Springfield IL, both parents Gary and Sylvia Dorn, Brother Mark (Jamie) Dorn Brooklyn Park MN.
Brother James (Emilie) Dorn New Whiteland, Sister Sarah Dorn of Columbus, Nieces and nephews, Chris (Erica) Dorn, Amanda Zeigler, Benjamin Dorn, Aaron Dorn, Luke Dorn, Sophia Dorn, great nieces and nephews- Jaycen Turner, Attalie Turner, Ryker Dorn, Reagan Schwartz.
And a special companion Don Sims of 35 years.
Aana was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, and everyone else older than our parents.
A private family final viewing and cremation will be held Friday 11, 2022 in Springfield and a public celebration of life service will be held at a later date. We would like to remind you that tomorrow is not promised. Please reach out to the Lord and repent and embrace your loving savior for it is only through Jesus that we gain eternal life. Remember to tell all of your family and friends that you love them. Don’t put it off and don’t live with regrets. Praise the Lord for the time we had with her.
