Judy was born in Rising Sun on February 7, 1946. She was raised in Hartsville where her father and mother served as pastor and musician of the Pilgrim Holiness Church. Judy was blessed with a sweet singing voice and enjoyed singing with her parents, siblings, and her children and grandchildren. She was a graduate of Hauser High School. During her married years she was a longtime resident of Hope and a member of the Hope Wesleyan Church and the Rugby United Brethren Church. Her love of Jesus and passion for children lead her to serve in children’s ministry, as well as other roles, in both congregations where her love was felt by many young souls. She was employed as an Employment Training Specialist by Developmental Services, Inc., (DSI) in Columbus where she was recognized and honored as “Staff of the Year” in 1986 and received many other accolades throughout her career for outstanding service to local adult residents requiring services for overcoming mental health challenges. Her many clients often expressed their appreciation for Judy’s loving and effective care for their life skills success, and their personal and spiritual wellbeing.
Her love for Jesus and for her family were both immeasurable. She was a best friend and confidant to each of her children and was regarded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “the most perfect person” they had ever known. She leaves countless memories of joy, laughter, and love; an irreplaceable presence in each heart she has touched.
Visitation will be Friday 5pm-7pm, and then again on Saturday at 11am with the funeral service to begin at noon at Norman Funeral Home in Hope, officiated by her sons Brad Douglas and Paul Bunting. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lifeline Wesleyan Church in Greensburg for their ministries to so many seeking salvation and personal assistance.
