Dr. Neil A. Pence of Columbus has been named to the American Academy of Optometry Hall of Fame. Members of the first Academy Hall of Fame class were announced and honored at the recent annual meeting of the American Academy of Optometry in San Diego in late October.
Pence serves as the associate dean for clinical and patient care services at the Indiana University School of Optometry. For 10 years he chaired the lectures and workshop committee for the American Academy of Optometry, responsible for selecting and planning more than 350 hours of educational programing at the annual meetings. Pence also served on the executive committee for the most recent Strategic Planning Initiative, and for the past four years has been the chair of the Nominating Committee.
