The Alliance for Substance Abuse Progress (ASAP) and Centerstone will hold a Thanksgiving community dinner next week prepared by those going through recovery.
The event, called the 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner, will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church gymnasium, 719 Fifth St.
Meals will be prepared by community recovery housing participants and treatment providers from Transformational Living Ministries, ASAP, Oxford House, Recover Out Loud, Chain Breaker Ministries, Voice of America Fresh Start, officials said.
There will be non-perishable baskets for guest to take home that include Thanksgiving food, as well as clothing, vouchers and donations, a fall-themed photo booth, games hosted by local providers, crafts for kids, a gratitude tree, a guest speaker, among other things.
