COLUMBUS
Richard Allen Burton, 65, of Columbus passed away on Monday November 21, 2022 at his home.
Born on January 12, 1957 in Hope Richard was the son of Arthur and Florence Reed Burton.
He had previously been employed at Cosco.
He had attended the First Baptist Church of Hope.
Richard is survived by children, Arthur (Kristi) Burton of Shelbyville, Nicole Ellington of Columbus and Michael Burton of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Joseph Michael Ellington (Gretchen Robbins) of Columbus,
Wyatt Edward Burton of Edinburgh, James Alexander Ellington of Columbus, Abigail Nicole Burton of Shelbyville and Madyson Renee Burton of Shelbyville; siblings, Rhonda Burton of Columbus, Shelly Frazee of Columbus and Ronnie Burton of Burney; best friend, Kimberly Burton of Columbus and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Richard will be held on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home. Cremation will follow and Richard’s cremains will be buried at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Norman Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
Richard loved to play poker and enjoyed many sports especially the Minnesota Vikings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Joshua Allen Ellington; nephew, Nathan Isgrigg and great-great nephew Colton Harris.
