Clifford Dale Federle

Clifford Dale Federle, 59, of Columbus, died peacefully Dec. 9, 2022, surrounded by his family.

He was born to Joseph Carl Federle Sr. and Mary Wanda Krimm Federle in Louisville, Kentucky.

Cliff attended the University of Louisville, where he received his master’s in electrical engineering. He also attended the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, where he received his MBA.

He married Julia Federle in 1988 and they had two children, Troy and Brian.

He held various engineering and finance positions through the years, last working as an Engineering Manager upon retirement. His favorite was the work he did for NASA at Cape Canaveral.

Cliff was an avid athlete, he ran multiple marathons and triathlons and competed in long distance bike races. He was also a pilot, skydiver, scuba diver, skier, and competitive shooter. Cliff loved working on large personal projects, such as building a diesel jeep with his son Troy and building an arcade machine with his son Brian. Cliff also enjoyed taking spontaneous adventures with his wife Julia. He also loved going to concerts with his family. Cliff really tried to make every day exciting. He had a big heart and would help whoever he could, no matter how busy he was. Cliff was an inspiration to many people as he battled cancer off and on for seven years. He never complained and tried to make the best of every situation. He was patient, kind, funny and loved his family very much!

Cliff is survived by his wife, Julia; his two sons, Troy (Audrey) and Brian (Eryn); two grandchildren, Joe and Millie; and siblings, Dianna Fiereisel (Al), Kenneth Federle (Benita) and Leon Federle (Mary).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Federle and his brother, Joseph.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 17th, 2022, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the home of Ken and Benita Federle at 9201 Bergamot Dr, Prospect, KY 40059.
